End of Windows XP Support

Are you ready?

In just over 8 days, Microsoft will officially end support for the venerable, trusty Windows XP platform. This means there will be no more updates to fix bugs, and more importantly, no more updates to fix security issues. This means if a security hole is found after support is ceased, you will remain vulnerable until you move to a new version of Windows!

There two main options to avoid issues:

1) Upgrade your machine: This option is of course the least expensive, but there are very few machines still running XP that would be good candidates for Windows 8 or Windows 7. If you would like to see if your machine is suitable to upgrade, download and run the Windows Upgrade Assistant. If your machine is suitable, Imaginarium IT can help you through the process from start to finish!
2) Buy a new machine: This is, obviously, the most expensive option up front, but will provide more value for money in the long run, as a well chosen machine should be able to run Windows 8 quite happily, and no need to upgrade in the short and medium term.

Continuing to use XP after the end of support could end up costing you more in the long run from viruses, data loss and data theft, even if you are running anti-malware software. Can you afford to ignore it?
